On morning pages

So, check this out. I recently stumbled upon this cool way of journaling called morning pages, I've been giving it a shot for a few months now. This genius named Julia Cameron came up with it and wrote about it in her book "The Artist's Way". It' all about this super cool idea to help sprout creativity, which she calls the 'morning pages'. Basically, you write three pages as soon as you wake up. You can write about whatever - there's no rules or anything.

Now, I've always been the type who'd pass out with my phone in hand and wake up to instantly check what I missed. My morning routine was basically scrolling through WhatsApp and Instagram before I even looked out the window. I knew it was draining and honestly, kind of a bummer of a way to start the day. When anyone younger asked me for advice, I'd always say - start your day with at least an hour sans screens. But I was a total hypocrite because I'd start my day glued to my phone.

So, I haven't got round to reading "The Artist's Way" yet, but I heard about morning pages on a YouTube channel (I'm kind of a journaling video junkie). I found a blank notebook and just dove right in. At first, I jotted down dreams, then it kind of evolved into scribbling about my ideas, cool things I saw, issues with folks, and more. It's been an awesome way to clear my head and set a chilled vibe for the day. There's something really nice about starting the day at your own pace.
